Manager of the Performance Control and Controlling department in the Total Mitteldeutschland Refinery (TRM) in Leuna - Germany.
- Controlling : follow-up of refinery costs, monthly reporting, interactions with Finance and Controlling departments in Berlin and Paris
- Performance Control : detailed analysis of the refinery monthly performance and optimisation against main constraints, post-program and retro-optimisation studies (linear program), real-time performance monitoring, valorisation studies of short- and medium term optimisation projects, analysis of the refinery's monthly operational result, minimisation of blending give-away
- coordination of Solomon studies for the refinery
- coordination of the yearly budget and long term plan preparation, participation in strategic studies and investments management
Optimising supply and operations of a 200 kbbl/d refinery in the UK.
- opportunities assessment and economics monitoring : supply of alternative high-margin crudes, arbitrage trading of feedstocks and finished products, tracking of European commodities market evolutions and of inland UK demand
- responsible for the refinery's monthly program (setup, realisation, optimisation) : operations coordination with the refinery’s planning department
- crude supply optimization (11 cargos/month) : opportunities/arbitrage between North Sea, West Africa, Mediterranean and Mexican sourced crudes
- internal supply optimisation in close coordination with TOTSA trading teams, other european TOTAL Raffinage pilotage teams and TOTAL Petrochemicals (propylene, benzene) in Brussels
- UK downstream supply chain optimisation : analysis of products liftings with Marketing, Supply and Trading teams in the UK
- risk management in coopoeration with dedicated internal teams (paper operations)
- specific supply preparation of 2009 and 2010 major T&Is : optimisation of products supply and stocks, use of multi-period LP modeling
- detailed analysis of the refinery's monthly operational result
- valorisation of business interruption claim
2004 - 2007Scheduling daily operations of a 18 Mt/y refinery in Antwerp:
- scheduling of crude terminals in Rotterdam and pipeline operations to supply the refinery,
- optimisation of refinery feedstocks and scheduling of process units,
- blending optimisation of gasolines, middle distillates and fuels oils,
- stocks management and planning of liftings (barges, cargos, pipelines, trucks),
- assessment of opportunities (arbitrage and products exports, alternative crudes, refinery constraints etc.),
- synergy with integrated petrochemical plant (propylene, naphtha, aromatics).
2000 - 2004Managing the development and implementation of scheduling systems in the refining industry:
- project management,
- modelling of industrial process units and operations,
- development of crude selection methodology
- build up of in-house expertise in scheduling models and integration of industrial data (inventories, process flows, lab data and quality etc.).
