The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD - www.culturaldiplomacy.org ) is an international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation with its headquarters in Berlin. The goal of the ICD is the promotion of international communication, understanding and stability through the strengthening and maintenance of intercultural relations on all levels. Over the last decade, the ICD became the largest independent organisation in Europe to promote cultural exchanges through programs encouraging understanding between individuals from all cultural, academic and professional backgrounds.
Past events of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy included „A World without Walls: An international congress on soft power, cultural diplomacy and independence“, which marked the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall ( www.world-without-walls.org ). In February 2010, the ICD also held „The Berlin International Economics Congress: An interdisciplinary Analysis of the role of global politics and civil society in the international economy ( www.biec.de ).
